|This is the nicest motel I have stayed in since living in Mi the last ten years it has a rustic decor is clean and quiet. I have compared prices in Grand Traverse County this is the best value. I stay there at least once a month and enjoy my stay every time I would recommend this place to anyone that asks me best value cleanliness and customer service is exceptional!
|Needed place to stay on short notice when visiting the area w/ family…service was great and room clean with all comforts including nice bed, wi-fi, cable TV, nice bathroom, fridge, microwave and coffee. Would stay again. Picture on this website is exactly what it looks like.

|My husband and I attended a wedding at Cobblestone Farms in Kingsley and needed a room close to the venue, it’s only 7 miles away! We were very impressed with the rooms at this little motel! They were very clean, clean linens, clean bathroom, refrigerator, microwave! It was great! As previously said, they leave “welcome bags” in every room. Chocolates, water, popcorn, hot chocolate.. So cute and thoughtful! I spoke to two different gentlemen on the phone from the motel and they were both very friendly and helpful. We were arriving late to the motel the night we stayed so the manager called me to let me know that they left our key in a lock box outside of the office. He text me all the information that I needed to get into the room! If we are ever in the Kingsley/Traverse City area and need a motel, this is where we will be staying!

|We stayed here for one night during the Traverse City Cherry Festival. This motel was located about a 15 minute drive from downtown Traverse City so it is convenient. As all motels any where near Traverse City during this time had no vacancy or charged a small fortune for a one night stay this was a good choice. The motel is under new ownership. We found it clean and comfortable and affordable compared to other hotels. It does not offer the amenities that other motels/hotels offer but it is fine for a couple of nights stay.

|Group of nine of us took a motorcycle trip to Traverse City. We chose the Kingsley Motel based on price, one review and the pictures on their web site.
Like any group we had people adding in and dropping off until the day before the trip. The proprietress was outstanding in adapting to our changes.
Between us I believe we had one of each type of accommodation offered. Everyone was very pleased. My wife and I stayed on one of the condos with another couple.
The condo was unbelievable – Tucked back in the woods away from the motel, patio with door wall and furniture, completely equipped kitchen, one car garage, two bedrooms and a laundry in the basement.
Everything was immaculately clean inside and outside.
The Kingsley Motel is about 20 minutes from the main drag in Traverse City. That wasn’t a problem for us, maybe even an advantage for peace and quiet.

|We stayed here for one night and were very pleased with everything, from start to finish. The room was clean and had plenty of space. Loved the furnishings and decor, but especially the little bag of coupons, snacks, bottled water and hot chocolate mix. What a nice touch!! The hotel is easy to find, located just off the highway. However we did not hear any traffic noise. We will definitely be staying here again and will recommend it highly to all.

|This motel was the cleanest I have ever been in. I had a problem and went to the office to get some help and the gentleman that was working there was very very helpful. He went above and beyond he was a life savior. The room was nice. I liked the decor. I diffently will stay there again. Great Place!
|This motel was surprisingly true to the reviews. We were looking for a place to stay outside the Traverse traffic yet close enough to enjoy the city. We were also looking for a clean room….which is very hard to find in the city.. at least for a reasonable cost in the summer! The staff were amazingly flexible and friendly. We would stay again! We saved $200 per night and we were happier than our friends at the sands or comfort inn.
|We went to a wedding in Kingsley and this was the only motel/hotel in town, so we had no choice but to stay here. We have stayed in small town motels before and were not looking forward to this. However, we were shocked at how much this place exceeded our expectations. The room felt like it was either newer or recently remodeled and was by far the nicest small town motel we have ever been in. We got a kitchenette room and it was more like an apartment than a motel room. They had a fire pit area and wood already cut for us to use. Since almost all the motel guests were family and friends from the wedding we took advantage of this and sat out by the fire for a few hours at night and had a wonderful time. We would definitely stay here again. Good job Kingsley Motel.

|What a great stay. If you want the best up north experience at the best price, then this’ll is the best by far. Can’t wait to come back
― Dereck Somers
|We went to the Traverse City area and just could not find a good place to stay without paying prime prices. The Kingsley motel was a good choice. My wife and I were put in a kitchenette room. Thank you for the extra space. The rooms are clean, spacious and the air conditioning worked quite well. The beds were comfortable but noisy when you turned over in the middle of the night. It was nice to have the extra room and be able to make breakfast or snacks in your own room. It was well worth the 25 minute plus commute to the Traverse Area because it is a beautiful area.

|This is a quaint little motel just outside of Traverse City. We wanted to stay somewhere close to Traverse City, but, did not want to pay the high rates that the hotels charge in town. After searching on Trip Advisor, we found this little gem. The rooms were very clean which is always something that I look for in other reviews. The motel manager (Rich) was awesome. He greeted us outside when we pulled in on our motorcycles and got us checked in right away. He then explained all of the amenities included in our stay and gave us recommendations for things to do in Traverse City. Rich was very friendly and accommodating which made our stay the best stop on our tour through Michigan.

|We stayed in a kitchenette room with 2 adults and 4 teens. The room was very clean. The whole staff was really helpful. even though the room was not ready yet, they let us put all our luggage in a storage room so we could go to the beach. When we came back, they had moved everything in our room for us- and it was a lot of stuff. The gas station next door makes good sandwiches. There is a grill and fire ring. We would stay here again. The price was definitely right. It is not the Ritz, but it is clean, convenient and comfortable.
|Rooms were so good, very “North woods” with the log furniture-inviting and comfortable. There was the added bonus of a “goodie bag” waiting of popcorn and other treats. Check in was easy, staff nice. Will stay here again.
― Jennie Kroncke
|This hotel was excellent, from it’s smallness, to the check in process, and to the room with log furnishings. Our room had a HUGE bathroom. The a/c worked great, the welcome bag of goodies was such a treat. I highly recommend this place, though will there be a room available when I want it again? Enjoy.

|We were on a fly fishing tour of Michigan and didn’t get in until dark one night, without much of an idea where we were at and no idea where to stay that night. We looked up our trusty Trip Advisor app on our phone and located the nearest hotel – this was “#1 of 2 hotels in Kingsley” – after all, it is quite a small town. We called to check rates and availability before we ventured out in the night and were informed they had just closed – but they would stay until we got there. About 15 minutes later we arrived, got checked in from one of the nicest front desk employees I’ve ever met, and were wowed when we opened the door to our room. Nice, clean room, dinette/sitting area, flat screen tv, coffee/microwave/fridge, and one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve seen in a hotel with plenty of towels – a plus since we used some to wipe down our waders once they were cleaned. All this for $50! In the morning I noticed a bag on the dinette I hadn’t seen the night before (we were exhausted), propped up between two bottles of water. I opened the bag to find candy, microwave popcorn, and some promo items including a chip clip with a hand-written thank you note for our stay. What a wonderful place and wonderful people to stumble upon in the middle of the night! My fiance and I were blown away and agreed on our next trip we would stay there in a heartbeat.

|My wife and I traveled from Pittsburgh, PA to Kingsley, MI for a destination wedding and found the Kingsley Motel very accommodating. It was clean and we where pleasantly surprised to find a refrigerator, microwave and TV with fantastic reception.
It has a laid back atmosphere where we could relax and enjoy the peace and quite of the area. We plan on retuning to the Kingsley Motel when we head north for some cross country skiing this winter.
― Joe A.
|Nice place to stay. Clean room and large bathroom. Great prices for being close to Traverse City. Management went out of their way to make sure we had a room when we couldn’t give much notice. We will stay here every time we need a motel.
― John Hendrickson
|You wont find a cleaner hotel and the staff is so friendly i will be back you guys have an awesome place thank you. They even give you little welcome bags. You also wont find a cheaper hotel/motel in the area.
― John W.
|I loved staying here. My wife and I were moving back to the area on short notice and needed a longer term living situation than a normal hotel would allow. We stayed for a month at this wonderful motel, first in a regular room and then in one of their kitchenettes. Price is good, rooms were clean and Kevin (owner/operator) is great. Any issue I had was addressed immediately. It’s also dog friendly, which is a must for us. It’s not in Traverse City, which is a deal breaker for some, but it’s only a twenty minute drive away. Not a bad thing to say about our month there!
― Joshua P.
|Extremely courteous manager who will go out of his way for you. Clean CLEAN rooms! Did I say CLLLEEEAAAANNNN!
|Nice, clean place for a great price. Owner is super friendly and helpful! Will stay here whenever we’re in the area.
― Karen Patterson
|We needed a pet friendly place to stay for 1 night while we attended a concert in nearby Interlochen. We did not want to pay $200-300 in Traverse City. This place had a good reviews and they were right. This place is clean, comfy bed, set back from the road so no road noise and nice grassy areas to walk a dog. We will definitely stay here again!
― Kathy B.
|Canoeing in the Traverse City area on a Saturday. We stayed and played a little too long and we couldn’t find a room anywhere! It was getting very late and we were contemplating a night in the car when we found this place just Googling on our phones. It is about 10 minutes away from Traverse City, they had one room left, and we took it. I would never have taken a chance on a little motel sight unseen, in a little town off the main highway, but I am so glad we did! It is small and sits next door but back from a gas station/convenience store. We were greeted by the nicest front desk employee and amazed when we opened the door to our room. Log furnishings, flat screen TV, fridge, micro, a huge bathroom with enough towels, a goodie bag was provided in the room that contained candy, microwave popcorn, and some promo items for the area, and a handwritten note from the housekeeper thanked us for trying them out. It was late, we were hungry, and the EZ Mart next door even had great pizza! The next morning the lady at the EZ Mart gave my husband a half dozen donuts for free. I would have never took a chance on a little motel next to a convenience store on a quiet country highway, but we feel truly blessed to have stumbled upon The Kingsley Motel in the middle of the night! We will definitely stay here again when revisiting the area.
― KD Harr
|Definitely would recommend. Clean rooms , comfortable bed, nice shower. Very friendly . Will return when in the area.
― Kris Taylor
|I stayed here over the weekend with my husband. The room was very clean, had a huge bathroom, nice furniture. The staff added small personal touches that you just don’t see at large chains. This place understands the hospitality industry. I would definitely recommend this motel. The only downside was the beds weren’t the greatest but not bad by any means. Overall, a nice quiet getaway place.
― Lacey D.
|Love this place! Have visited twice, both times were excellent. Spotless room with log bed and matching furniture. Pleasant and restful. Bring earplugs, walls are thin. Looking forward to coming back.
― Lori F.
|Stayed here a couple of weeks back, and we could not have been more pleased. Exceptionally clean rooms, the largest bathroom I have ever seen in a motel/hotel and tons of space right ourside of the rooms for the kids to play. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking to stay out of the total chaos that is Traverse City during the summer months. Staff could not have been nicer. Kudos to the Kingsley. We will be back!
― Michelle B.
|So pleased with this hotel. The price was right, the location was great, the scenic view outside of Traverse City is epic. The rooms were clean and well, homey. The room included a kitchenette, small living room, with a new flat screen tv,This kinda place makes one feel good all under.I will be returning there the next time I have business in Traverse City, Thank You Kingsley Motel.
― Nancy H.
|This is a Mom & Pop style motel about 1/2 hour south of Traverse City, MI. We stayed there one night when looking around the area mainly because of the reasonable price. The room we had included a kitchenette, small living room, bedroom and bath. Everything was very clean, older but in good shape, they provided a rollaway for $15. It is next to a Mobil station with a convenience store and is about 5 miles from the village of Kingsley. Do not confuse this with Kingsley in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. The breakfast was adequate, the usual cereals, baked goods and make-it-yourself waffles.
The best part were the owners and staff. They couldn’t have been more friendly and accomodating, very nice folks. We would definitely stay there again.
|The Motel staff was friendly and rooms were clean! I will be back in the spring.
|We attended a “pop-up” dinner at Boss Mouse Cheese just south of Kingsley and did not want to drive back to Petoskey. The only choice nearby was this motel and we were extremely pleased with the results—high level of cleanliness to the point of being immaculate, well-appointed room with plenty of amenities and a very warm welcome upon our arrival! We would definitely go back!
― Tom T.
|Two couples looking for getaway to do some bicycling in the Traverse City area for less than the $200+ charged by even average hotels in town. We found the Kingsley Hotel twelve miles away, with clean and spacious rooms that included kitchenette, sofa and comfortable chair. The staff went out of its way to be helpful and provide superior service. We would go back without question.
― Wishart B
